Summary
Adventure Koala is working on his Self-Sorting Snack Shelf invention when Margie Meerkat arrives with a mysterious problem - someone has been breaking into her store AdventureMart and taking items, but leaving behind beautiful treasures like smooth stones, feathers, and buttons. The S.A.R.T. team investigates and discovers that three young crow siblings - Cinder, Soot, and Ember - have been entering through the roof window, taking needed supplies but carefully leaving what they believe is fair payment. The children learned about trading posts from their grandmother's stories and thought AdventureMart operated the same way. When caught, they're terrified of being in trouble, but Adventure Koala and Margie realize this is a misunderstanding, not theft. Margie is so impressed by the quality of their 'payments' and their honest intentions that she creates a Trading Corner where children can trade treasures for small treats, employing the three young crows to run it. The story ends with the Trading Corner successfully operating and the Coalfeather family integrated into the community. Meanwhile, Tina Turtle discovers that one of the stones contains the same ancient symbols she's been researching, suggesting the larger mystery about archaeological ruins is getting closer to Adventure Town.
